I'm hooooome!
I stayed over at Leo's house last night with Jelly. We devoured creme-de-menth laced ice cream and went to the cinema. Marvelous. And then I hit the sack quite early in order to rest up for the 7.5 hour drive -- which went very swiftly and uneventfully (...except for the time I almost died because my breaks were wet and didn't want to function at one point). I arrived home around 4:30. The donkeys look tiny after all my time spent with horses...
Okay, yes. That was a rather random segue into some rather random information, I know. But ahhh, it's so nice to be home. Clean and dry, surrounded by lovely things like books and cats and internet and REAL coffee and Jeopardy! .I'm so looking forward to sleeping indoors tonight, in my nice warm bed, sans spiders.
However, I'm already beginning to miss everyone terribly. It's been fantastic to get to know so many amazing people over the past 2 months. For one thing, it's going to be weird not to hear an English accent every morning. :) At least I still have Leo, or will have her in a few days once we get back to school! (Pubtime, Leo. Pubtime!)
And I also miss the horses, naturally. I fell in love with one in particular...Timmy: my gorgeous, sweet-tempered Tennessee Walking Horse. Totally cried when he was in the trailer, about to leave. But the odd thing is that these horses live in Pittsburgh when they're not at camp. So maybe it's not too much to hope that I'll see him again? At any rate, I shall have to start a flikr album so that I can show you his beautifulness... [EDIT: I couldn't wait, so here
is my lovely boy (and me as a pirate....don't ask!)]
All in all, it was a summer well spent. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if it weren't for the distance and the fact that I desperately need to make actual money next year. Curse Scotland and it's higher cost of living...but bless it for being my chance to hang with my British friends again!
